Woodchat shrike – Lanius senator
Woodchat shrike is 17-19 centimetres long, the tail included. It has the typical round bodyshape and a strong beak. The adult plumage is primarily black, white with a brown/read head. The female is a bit paler in colour. The female is also a bit smaller. The juvenile ressembles the juvenile redbacked shrike. The birds on the pictures visited Gotland 2013 and 2015.
