long-bracted green orchid – Coeloglossum viride
long-bracted green orchid – Coeloglossum viride
is an insignificant little orchid and looks maliciously like an orchid that has bloomed over. The stalk can grow up to two centimeters high and has scattered leaves that are
greyish-green on the underside. They bloom in June-July with green or reddish-brown flowers. The spur of the flower is short and blunt.
It’s hard to find. I crawled around looking for it and finally got help finding it. It is found in a few places on Gotland and almost all over the country.
It grows on grazed land and in sparse forests. Here on Gotland in a couple of different meadows.
